The night phase: precision and silence
Why this matters. A referee's mistake at night can make a game wrong beyond repair.
What to do. Run the shot, the don's check and the sheriff's check in the set order, using the same commands every time. Do not tell a colour to the wrong player. Record the result before moving to the next action.
How it sounds. "The city falls asleep. The shooting phase begins."
Practice. Run three nights with an assistant referee and compare the results.
Typical mistakes. Switching phases too fast, or giving information away by accident.
