How to analyse a recorded game

Why this matters. Professional growth needs conclusions that can be repeated, not the impression "I did not like that speech".

What to do. Watch the recording in three passes: without knowing the cards, with the cards open, and then only the critical decisions. At each stage write down your prediction, the arguments and the outcome.

How it sounds. "At minute 12 I counted six as black because of a change of position; after the cards were opened I see that the reason was new information."

Practice. Analyse one game and write a protocol of ten key decisions.

Typical mistakes. Judging by the result and forgetting the quality of the decision at the moment of choice.
