First-day scenarios
The first day, no checks yet
Player no. 3 confidently accuses no. 8. The city does not know the roles of either. The rational move: demand grounds that can be checked, find out who no. 3's alternative candidate is, watch the vote and do not present confidence as knowledge. The gangs, at this moment, do not know the line-up of their rivals either.
No suspects
The civilians form positions that can be checked, and the gangs disguise themselves as analysts and watch for the possible Sheriff.
Two accusers
Check the arguments and the alternatives: the conflict may be sincere, between gangs or staged.
A tie vote
Keep to the Sport Mafia order for a tie vote; analyse the motives for changes of votes.
A tie vote between a civilian and a mafioso
The participants do not know the true roles and must weigh public evidence and risks. The procedure for a repeat vote is set by the Sport Mafia rulebook. The fact of a tie does not make both candidates equally likely to be mafia.
The Boss leaves first, on the first day
Their gang is left with one Gangster. They no longer have the night searches for the Sheriff, but keep the right to shoot. The city does not learn that it was the Boss who left; the others may build wrong versions about the strength of the gang.
The city does not know the role of the player who left; the remaining Gangster keeps shooting without checks.
