Victory and draw
The host checks the final state of the game strictly. Below are the approved principles and, marked separately, the cases that still need confirmation.
The city
A win for the city is recorded when the Irish and the Italians are completely removed, that is, all four mafia players.
One gang is left
If the rival gang is destroyed, the remaining gang wins when its number is at least the number of living citizens. Example: 1 mafioso and 1 citizen: the remaining gang wins; 2 mafiosi and 2 citizens: the same.
The city is fully removed
If both gangs still exist and one has a numerical advantage, the majority wins. Example: 2 Irish and 1 Italian: the Irish win.
Draws that have been discussed
1 Irish + 1 Italian, and 1 Irish + 1 Italian + 1 citizen: a draw under the working agreement.
Not finally determined
All other extreme combinations, the order for checking conflicting conditions and the exact moment the game ends have not yet been approved (needs confirmation). Missing rules are not derived from the examples.
Endings by number of players
1 Irish + 1 Italian
A draw under the previously agreed rule.
1 Irish + 1 Italian + 1 citizen
A draw under the previously agreed rule.
2 Irish + 1 Italian with no citizens
The Irish win; the same in mirror image for the Italians.
1 Irish + 1 Italian + 3 citizens
The game goes on. The outcome must not be announced too early.
One gang destroyed
The remaining gang shoots every night and wins when it reaches the approved numerical condition.
Scenarios of close endings
The city has almost destroyed the Irish
If the Irish have one player left, but the Italians still have two, removing the last Irish player leaves the Italians as the only shooters at night. This is an important consequence that the city must take into account when judging the order in which suspects are removed.
One Irish, one Italian and one citizen
In the previously agreed version this is a draw. You cannot invent an extra secret shot or an automatic win for the city. The exact procedure for the host to record the result needs confirmation.
Three citizens, one Irish and one Italian
The game continues under the conditions discussed earlier. For every player it is important to assess not only today's vote, but also that after one gang is destroyed, the other gets to shoot every night.
